City Limits 02:38
Hey, everybody I know Air conditioning for the new trench coat Salivating on the beach side walk April weather stays as dry as a bone Asian grocers with bohemian doors Student placements run the new hospitals Traffics shit between 2:30 and 4 Half a thousand heads all lined up in rows We’re gonna redefine the borders (of the city limits) We’re gonna excavate the tourists (of the city limits) Authenticate the forests (of the city limits) We’re gonna circumvent the walls Alka-Seltzer mixed with crushed up Nodoze Sunday breakfast with the boys at the bowls Heats up quickly when we’re in summer months Three day weekdays follow four day benders Hey, everybody I know Air conditioning for the new trench coat Salivating on the beach side walk April weather stays as dry as a bone We’re gonna redefine the borders (of the city limits) We’re gonna excavate the tourists (of the city limits) Authenticate the forests (of the city limits) We’re gonna circumvent the walls

Perfection 01:34
Peaking to perfection Holding every little obsession Standing close with overachievers Faulting over and over and over Faceless monsters of invention Can’t be quoted, only mentioned Charming locals over Brisbane Unconcerned with your opinion Speaking slowly aim for another week Speaking slowly aim for another week Dressed and failing to impress With pockets full of mints and meds Entailing preamble of success They say the door is always open Social boundaries lost to distance Staring phone screens on the toilet Fill up winter morning rituals Faces sounding flushed and pointless Speaking slowly aim for another week Speaking slowly aim for another week

Open up the door, walk outside to take the trash out, And I know, I won’t have to talk to anybody, I would know, they have gone for the summer, For the weekend, for the year, forever And see this place is mine, with a bed, And the dresser, and the bathroom and a wall full of records Open up the door, let the light in, I haven’t seen it for a long long time. In the front seat you would go, and we stop Near the corner of the road of the fish and chips apartment I screamed songs till I got bored, researched singers and their bands, Read the lyrics till they finally lost their meaning Walk determined on the phone, with the sun its only you, It’s only you, we made such a mess together Open up the door, let the light in, We made such a we made such a mess together

Balmain 05:30
And I’ll tell you I don’t think that it is just quite the same, With the potholes and drains, and the concrete Why’d you move there Driving west to Balmain, where the church hasn’t aged, And the roads are reminiscent of a South Brisbane plane Where you heading And my social life has turned into a booming middle class, Like an assortment of egos without boundaries Why’d you go there The us vs them mentality is as strong as bone, With a handful of singers with mournful tones Wait a minute now (We’re gonna head to the chorus, are you ready?) And when you’re done trying You better get right off the road Until you’ve decided Who you’ll be, that’s good to know There’s carbon on the table from an inefficient flame, There’s an old wooden box you kept for years, How you feeling There’s a coffee on the staircase looking about 3 days old, And half filled cups of pinot noir. And backie bongs And when you say it, when you say it, when you say it, when you say it all wrong. You’ve decided, you’ve decided, you’ve decided you can do it no wrong. Oh and it’s worth repeating And when you’re done driving You better get right off the road Until you’ve decided Who you’ll be, that’s good to know And I’ll tell you I don’t think that it is just quite the same, With the clothes, the music, and all the coffee shops Why’d you move here Driving west to Balmain…

And as we lined up at the parade, The 1st time I’ve seen you in days The trumpeters cry, while the sun begins to rise above Elephant Rock late April Summers longer than we all imagined The ocean freeze only starts in May My shoes begin to wear and my shins splint again, we should’ve rented a holiday I start to leave before dawn mid June Where the shower fills steam in the room The 6:49 is a friend that I hate, I’ve seen him more and more frequently of late Realistically its not that cold I sleep within the library walls And my laptop runs flat from the songs that I have and the tales from New York City - And for the days that I may have free I’ll work with colleagues who don’t greet me Except a rudimentary smile with a silence in between this isn’t comfortable for you or me. - Haven’t seen you in about a week But we text very occasionally My bed is getting cold and my sheets aren’t getting washed, we haven’t been functioning properly - As you pull beside the road, And opened the door to let the wind blow And you told me to smile put my hands by my side, accept the things are there and the fault is not mine. While my small hands shake and sway Like a storm on a hill except it’s all in my brain And the picture it frayed with an anger it stayed like a business man scarred, small and hopelessly late. Until your eyes they turn face down I’m a desperate companion, I’m an obvious clown There’s no accidents preceding, no warped sense of faith, Ill cut thorns from the bush, I’ll cut everyone away From the bottom of a swimming pool I exhaled my breath swiftly, stayed as low as I could And wait for cool winter sleep ins, or warm summer nights, and the long boring hours between every fun time ~ And maybe we could talk about the things that we have done in the past week, when I haven’t seen you.

Uptight 03:38
The logic it was flawed You didn’t need nobody to tell you Overwhelmed by the coming day Or the fact you left your keys in the front door Boredom, comfort food and pay Overstaying everyone’s welcome Descriptive, idealistic ways You talk about your stylish apartment In calm, unpredictable, Passive self destructive moods You travelled, half around the world Just to validate what’s already known It’s authentic, irreplaceable But you’d never buy it for yourself It’s autonomous and relatable, To you but not to anyone else You sit at home, watch the news Try and make some sense of it all A self taught intellectual But you don’t have anybody to call you’re uptight
